A CAR dealership has opened another site, offering customers a new type of vehicle.
A site has opened in Bradford dedicated to the new Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) line-up from car manufacturer, Kia.
Specialising in Kia vehicles, the new dealership is located on Canal Road.
The new PBV Bradford centre will be situated next to the existing Kia Bradford dealership.
This proximity aims to provide customers with the full range of Kia assets, including both cars and commercial vans, all on one site.
The site, which was previously occupied by a Honda dealership, has undergone a considerable transformation.
A six-figure investment has been made to prepare for the influx of Kia’s PBV range.
A significant portion of the investment was directed towards upgrading the workshop facilities to handle larger commercial vehicles.
The MOT lane within the workshop will also be upgraded to accommodate Class 7 MOTs.
According to a spokesperson, all existing employees of the former Honda dealership have been retained in new roles, now serving as part of the Kia PBV Bradford team.
The PBV line-up is an all-electric line-up of vehicles.
These vehicles are built around an interchangeable electric platform.
Kia describes this as a modular system, enabling interchangeable bodies to be fitted depending on specific requirements.
The first model in this range, the PV5, comes in various forms, including a traditional cargo van, a crew van, a passenger vehicle, or a chassis cab that can be customised for fleet or separate builds.
The PBV line-up is exclusively available from dedicated PBV centres.
As the dealership in Bradford is the first in the nationwide network of over 180 sales outlets, it marks a significant milestone for the region.
The network also includes Vertu Kia dealerships in Barnsley, Nottingham, and Edinburgh.
Chris Curley, General Manager of Vertu Kia Bradford, said: “The addition of a PBV centre to the Bradford site is an exciting moment, particularly given the anticipation there has been for the arrival of the first models built on Kia’s new platform.
“We expect this already award-winning mode to become a major player in the commercial sector.”

“The PBV platform is an exciting addition to Kia’s already impressive EV line-up, and we are confident that the PV5 will be a popular model with our customers both in Bradford, and across the wider Yorkshire region.”
