Bradford Manufacturing Weeks to return later this year

BRADFORD Manufacturing Weeks is set to return this autumn.

The annual event set up to connect young people to a career in manufacturing will return between Monday, October 9, and Friday, October 20, at schools and colleges across the region.

Prior to this, some of the most prominent and successful figures in Yorkshire manufacturing are set to lend their expertise and wisdom at a free webinar, staged by West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.

BMW Blast is being held on Wednesday, August 30, at noon and will feature industry-leading experts who will discuss their careers.

Panelists include Mansfield Pollard managing director Louise Frankland, Bradford University’s Professor Ben Whiteside and Solenis site manager David Calder.

The event will be hosted by West and North Yorkshire Chamber chief executive James Mason.

Mark Cowgill, president-elect of West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Bradford has one of the finest manufacturing sectors in the country and Bradford Manufacturing Weeks has done so much good work in giving it new blood.

“Manufacturing can give you a well-paid, secure and incredibly interesting career that can take your work across the planet. The webinar could be the first step in that journey.”
