Business fundraising to help bring comfort to loved ones in final days

A business is raising funds to help bring comfort to people during their final days.

OPM Group, based in West Yorkshire, is aiming to raise £15,000 to fund a second cuddle bed at Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope.

Cuddle beds are wider than standard hospice beds and allow families to lie beside their loved ones.

Susan Ellison, director at OPM Group, said: “A cuddle bed gives people the chance to make those last wishes possible, whether that’s having your grandchildren climb in beside you, sharing a bed with your partner, or even having your pets curl up with you.

“Those moments matter more than anything.”

The company previously funded a cuddle bed at the hospice at the end of 2025.

The fundraising idea began during a conversation with Sue Ryder fundraiser Harriet Wood.

Susan and Chris Ellison have a personal connection to the cause.
