Businesses teaming up to help families with sick babies in Bradford

A new collaboration is helping raise funds for families with babies in neonatal care.

HFC Bradford is teaming up with Wunder Crumble and MyLahore to support the Bradford Hospitals Charity Home from Home Appeal.

The campaign aims to raise £3 million to upgrade facilities for families of premature and critically ill babies at Bradford Royal Infirmary.

On Sunday, March 15, from 5pm to 11pm, all proceeds from HFC Bradford’s three locations – Leeds Road, Great Horton Road, and Lumb Lane – will be donated to the charity.

Funds raised will help create a kitchen and family space within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, giving parents a non-clinical area to cook, sit together, and recharge while their babies receive specialist care.

Ishfaq Farooq, director of MyLahore and an ambassador for Bradford Hospitals Charity, has been instrumental in bringing the businesses together.

Mr Farooq said: “Bradford has always been a city with a strong community spirit.

“Through my role with Bradford Hospitals Charity, I’ve been encouraging businesses to come together and support families within our own city.

“It’s fantastic to see HFC Bradford stepping forward as the first business to collaborate with Wunder Crumble and MyLahore on this initiative.

“Hopefully this is the start of many more Bradford businesses coming together to help the charity reach its £3 million target and support families who need it most.”

A spokesperson for HFC Bradford said: “We are proud to be supporting this important local cause.

“Hospitals and neonatal units are something that can affect any family, and we felt it was important to support the community that supports us every day.

“If by donating a day’s proceeds we can help families going through a difficult time with their newborn babies, then it is something we are very happy to do.”

The Home from Home Appeal is part of a wider effort to encourage other Bradford businesses to get involved. Organisers hope that others will host similar fundraising events to help the campaign reach its target.
