Family-run packaging company in Huddersfield acquired by overseas firm

A packaging firm in Huddersfield has been acquired by a Netherlands-based company.

Holmfirth-based BM Packaging, which operates two sites and supplies corrugated packaging, has been acquired by Nova Paper & Packaging B.V – part of Turkey’s Eren Holding.

Chris Latham, managing director at BM Packaging, said: “The business has been in the family for 35 years but this was too good an opportunity to miss in terms of growing the company and securing its future as part of a significant and dynamic group.”

BM Packaging supplies bespoke and die-cut packaging across multiple sectors.

Mr Latham will remain in his role following the acquisition and was advised during the sale by Yorkshire law firm, Schofield Sweeney.

Jack Venable, solicitor in Schofield Sweeney’s corporate team, added: “It was a privilege to be involved in this deal and to support Chris in the sale, which sees a Yorkshire family-run business take a step towards the future as part of a global conglomerate.”
