A NEW dental clinic offering a subscription‑based alternative to NHS dentistry has opened its doors in Bradford city centre.
Brilliant Healthy Smiles, founded by Bradford‑born dentist Dr Syed Fraz Ali, is welcoming its first patients at its Kirkgate site.
The practice aims to tackle the national struggle to access affordable dental care.
Dr Ali said he created the “first‑of‑its‑kind” model to bridge the gap between NHS and private dentistry.
He said: “I wanted to create a system that delivers accessible and affordable dental care for the community,”
Adults pay £9.95 per month, while children under 18 are treated for free.
Patients then pay treatment fees based on NHS Band 1, 2 and 3 rates.
The clinic plans to offer NHS‑equivalent treatments supported by modern equipment, digital systems and customer‑service tools such as AI‑assisted X‑rays, automated booking and a 24/7 WhatsApp chatbot.
More than one thousand patients signed up before launch, and the practice has capacity for up to 12,000 people.
Dr Ali said the project is about giving back to the city that raised him.

He said: “I felt it was time to contribute something meaningful to the community that supported me.”
If successful, the team hopes to expand the model nationally.
