Hospital charity named Bradford shopping centre’s charity of the year

A hospital charity has been named a shopping centre’s Charity of the Year after winning nearly 700 public votes.

Bradford Hospitals Charity secured the title from The Broadway Bradford following a public vote.

The centre invited the community to choose a local cause for year-long support.

Laura Riach, director of Bradford Hospitals Charity, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen as The Broadway’s Charity of the Year, thank you to everyone who voted for us.

“This partnership will help us shine a light on the difference charitable support makes to patient care, and it will enable us to raise essential funds for projects that go above and beyond what the NHS can provide.”

The first fundraising event, a Teddy Bear Health Check, will take place at The Broadway on Saturday, February 21, from 11am to 5pm.

Mandy Stone, marketing manager at The Broadway, said: “We are thrilled to announce Bradford Hospitals Charity as our Charity of the Year for 2026.
