Leeds Bradford airline receives top environmental rating for climate strategy

An airline based at Leeds Bradford Airport has been recognised for its environmental leadership.

Jet2 has received an A- rating from the global environmental disclosure organisation CDP for its climate strategy and actions to reduce emissions.

The rating places Jet2 among the UK’s top leisure travel companies for climate governance and progress toward Net Zero by 2050.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2 plc, said: “We are delighted to have achieved an A- score from CDP.

“This rating recognises the considerable steps we have taken across our entire operation to reduce emissions and strengthen our climate strategy.

“Our commitment remains long-term, ambitious and grounded in real action, and we will continue to invest in the technologies, partnerships and practices needed to support a lower-carbon future for UK aviation.”

Jet2 has outlined a climate transition plan aimed at cutting carbon emissions per revenue-paying passenger kilometre by 35 per cent by 2035 compared to 2019 levels.

Jet2 also won the Package Holiday/Leisure Airline category at the AirlineRatings.com 2025 Sustainability Awards earlier this year for its ongoing environmental initiatives.
