PUBLICITY around the cinema release of Wuthering Heights has once again put Haworth in the spotlight.
And to mark the launch this week of Emerald Fennell’s adaptation of the Emily Brontë classic, a village literary bar and kitchen is staging a creative love letter competition.
Writers’ Bloc, in Main Street, is inviting visitors to pen a love letter to Haworth – where the Brontë siblings lived and drew inspiration, from the surrounding moorland, for their work.
“People are encouraged to write their letter inside the venue and then post it into an onsite letterbox,” says a spokesperson.
“Selected entries will be displayed in the bar, with winners receiving dinner and drinks – a modern tribute to one of literature’s most passionate settings.”
Entrants should include contact details with their submission. The competition runs until February 28.
