A BRADFORD car wash now has electric vehicle charging points.
International car wash brand IMO, which has more than 240 locations across the UK, has selected the charging network Be.EV to install and maintain chargers across several of its sites – with four locations now live.
From today (Tuesday, October 17), customers can charge their electric vehicles at the IMO Car Wash on Thornton Road.
It is now equipped with rapid chargers, which can charge a typical EV to 80 per cent in one to two hours, compared to four to six hours on a 7kW fast charger.
With the site only five minutes from Bradford city centre, it’s expected to receive an average of 150 visitors a day.
The number of cars passing the site regularly reaches more than 11,000 vehicles a day, and Bradford has more than 2,300 registered electric vehicles – the drivers of which will now be able to charge their vehicles whilst commuting into town or queuing for the car wash.
Asif Ghafoor, CEO of Be.EV, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with IMO and celebrate the launch of our first installations together.
“IMO is a world-leading brand that is renowned for the quality of their automated car wash service.
“From the earliest stages of working with their team, they showed a clear desire to create a high-quality, high-speed charging experience at their car wash locations that would be future-proof – an approach that perfectly aligns with our ethos at Be.EV.”
Yesterday IMO executives came together at the Bradford site with Be.EV staff and members to celebrate the national partnership, with visitors offered a complimentary triple foam car wash.
Adam Green, Managing Director for IMO UK, added: “We are excited to announce our partnership with Be.EV and the installation of electric vehicle chargers at several of our car wash sites across the UK.”
He said the firm is “committed to providing an excellent car wash service as well as enhancing the overall experience for our customers”.
Mr Green added: “By joining forces with Be.EV, we are proud to be part of the largest public EV charging network in the north of England, ensuring reliable and accessible charging solutions for local communities and car wash visitors alike.
“This is just the beginning of our collaboration, and we look forward to expanding our partnership with Be.EV to more IMO locations across the country.”
