Plans for huge solar array on Bradford factory are approved

A MAJOR Bradford employer has been given the go-ahead to install a huge array of solar panels on its warehouse and production facilities.

Princes Soft Drinks had applied for permission to create a new green energy facility on the roof of two of its buildings off Tong Street.

The company, which produces drinks that are sold nationwide, employs 400 people at its Bradford site.

The plans will see hundreds of panels installed on the roof of the warehouse and production buildings, as well as solar inverter stations and a transformer.

Approving the scheme this week, planning officers at Bradford Council said: “The proposal represents a positive move to a clean and renewable energy source reducing the company’s reliance on other forms of energy supply.

“This represents a positive move for air quality and the wider environment.”
