Research reveals car insurance in Bradford has fallen by 16 per cent

Car insurance premiums in Bradford have dropped by as much as 16 per cent.

Drivers are now paying £958 on average, reflecting a £175 saving compared to this time last year, according to the latest car insurance price index from Confused.com.

Rhydian Jones, motoring expert at Confused.com car insurance, said: “Car insurance is a considerable expense for many of us.

“But prices are cheaper now than they have been in recent years.

“And this is welcome news, given that many motoring costs are set to rise in 2026 – adding hundreds of pounds to our motoring bills.

“Car insurance is a cost we can’t avoid, but there are ways to reduce it, such as improving vehicle security or adding a more experienced named driver to your policy.”

Elsewhere, in Leeds and Sheffield, the average premium is now £835, down £132, with the national average being £726 – a fall of £111 compared to last year.

Despite the decline in premiums, more than two in five drivers (42 per cent) still reported an average increase of £72 in their renewal quotes.

However, 47 per cent of those who then switched insurers saved an average of £87.
