BRADFORD College celebrated the fourth annual Apprenticeship Games this week, bringing together apprentices and employer partners from across the region for a full day of competition, creativity and hands on skills challenges.
The event, on Tuesday, formed part of National Apprenticeship Week 2026 and highlighted the strength of the College’s partnerships with more than 700 employers.
Teams representing organisations including MyLahore, Junction Dental Practice, BDCU, Target Dental Group, NPS Engineering Group, Bradford Bulls, Aptem, CBRE, JCT600 and the BBC competed across six industry led challenges. Activities ranged from an E Sports tournament and a Dental skills challenge to creating their very own mascot in the Producing Academy. As well as practical tasks in Motor Vehicle and Electrical disciplines, and to round off the event, with a high energy Bradford Bulls sports challenge.
Donna Hudson, Employer Relations Officer at Bradford College, said: “The Apprenticeship Games really show what apprentices can do. It’s fantastic seeing so many of our apprentices and employers putting their skills into action and supporting one another. We’re incredibly proud of every team that took part.”
From BDCU, Amanda Armitage, Senior Lending & Member Services Officer, added: “The Games were a brilliant confidence builder for our apprentices. They developed teamwork, communication and networking skills throughout the day. Bradford College’s apprenticeship programme keeps growing in strength, and we’ll continue taking on apprentices to help develop future talent.”
Bradford College apprentice alumni Janka Brabcoba, now Community Development Officer & Member Services Assistant at BDCU, reflected on returning to the event: “Coming back as an alumni was really motivating. It was great to network and see how much the event has grown. My apprenticeship at Bradford College gave me the confidence and skills for the role I’m in now.”
Representing the winning team, NPS Engineering Group, a mechanical company specialising in manufacturing in water treatment systems and steel fabrications, Electrician Apprentice, Joel Tummons, said: “Meeting new people, trying different challenges and learning new skills has been great. The communication between the College and my employer has been excellent.”
This year’s Apprenticeship Games once again showcased the enthusiasm, teamwork and ambition of apprentices across the region, and Bradford College will continue to strengthen its employer collaboration over the coming year, ensuring apprentices have the opportunities, support and experience needed to succeed.

A La Carte service runs between from 6pm, featuring seasonal dishes, artisan starters, elegant mains, and indulgent desserts, all created with fresh ingredients and presented to restaurant standards.
