Will this West Yorkshire bookshop add to its awards tally this month?

A West Yorkshire bookshop is in the running for a fifth consecutive Independent Bookshop of the Year award.

Wave of Nostalgia in Haworth has once again been named a finalist in the North England category.

Diane Park, owner, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with this accolade, especially when we’re up against such tough competition from great Bookshops in Manchester, Liverpool, York and Newcastle let alone those in West Yorkshire.

“We’d like to thank everyone who has supported us, especially anyone who has been involved in our community-based activities over the last year, which I know the judges were particularly impressed with.”

The winner is set to be announced on March 10, coinciding with an author event at Haworth Parish Church featuring crime writer Elly Griffiths.

Ms Griffiths will discuss The Killing Time, the second novel in her new series featuring Detective Ali Dawson.

Other upcoming events include a talk with novelist Brigid Lowe on March 25 and the launch of Ava Glass’s new thriller on April 1.
