Halloween is just around the corner, and to get in the spooky spirit this year, Kirkgate Shopping Centre asked their social media followers to choose which school deserves a trick (or treat).

One whole school year was in with the chance of winning Halloween themed goody bags for all the pupils, and that choice was down to the followers of Kirkgate’s Facebook page. To nominate a school, followers had to comment the school name, followed by the school year they’d like to win and the teacher they would like to be put up for the prize.

The competition saw huge engagement across the socials, with lots of parents and teachers across Bradford nominating their school, which is a great way to connect with the community. 

To deliver the prize, Catherine Riley, Centre Manager at Kirkgate Shopping Centre, visited the school personally to hand out the goody bags to the children. The competition closed on Thursday 13^th October, with the winning school being contacted to be informed of their lovely win.  The goody bags were then delivered to the school on Tuesday 18^th October, giving the children a little treat before they saw the half term in.

Kirkgate Shopping Centre have ran a similar seasonal competition before, around the Easter period, where the Appleton Academy won Easter themed goody bags for the Year 2 group.

Speaking on the competition, Centre Manager Catherine Riley commented:

“We were delighted to run this competition for Halloween to give children a treat before the half-term. We would like to give a huge congratulations to the Co-Op Delius Academy for being the lucky winners and winning treats for the whole school!”
