THE public square of Bradford’s new Darley Street Market will host the first in a series of monthly pop-up markets on Saturday.
Taking place in the Courtyard space from 10am to 3pm, the markets will take place on the first Saturday of every month except January.
Organised by local company Real Markets, the regular markets will add to the independent traders at the newly opened market.
Complementing the existing market traders, Real Markets – which already host monthly markets at in Ilkley and Saltaire – will bring makers, bakers and creators to the site.
Items on sale include cards, prints, bags, sweet and savoury treats, chocolates, ready meals, and snacks, as well as jewellery, soaps, bath products, clothing, art, photography and more.
Lucy Allen, Director of Real Markets, says: “Our markets give small local producers and makers the chance to connect with their customers and talk about the products they have made and it makes a purchase extra special when you can speak to the person who made it.”
Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration, Planning and Transport said: “Our new market it proving to be really popular and traders are loving welcoming new and old customers to the new venue.
“Having these pop-up market every month will bring a different dimension to what’s on offer throughout the market and are a great use of the outdoor Courtyard space.”
