A Bradford law firm has advised on the letting of a major new distribution centre for a national retailer.
Gordons advised Ocado Retail on the 15-year lease of a 66,000 sq ft facility at Fairham Business Park, near Nottingham.
The facility, due to open this autumn, will operate around the clock and is expected to “employ in excess of 400 people,” in the words of a spokesperson.
This includes van drivers, marshallers, office staff, and maintenance workers.
Sarah Ratcliffe, commercial property partner at Gordons, led the team that advised Ocado on the lease.
Ms Ratcliffe said: “The new distribution centre will be an outstanding facility.
“We are very pleased to have helped with the distribution hub’s acquisition and look forward to seeing it become fully operational later this year.”
The hub will serve the wider Nottingham area to address what a spokesperson described as “growing demand for online grocery deliveries.”
Ocado plans to install fuel pumps, docking areas, CCTV, and other infrastructure upgrades at the site.
Gordons employs 170 people and also has an office in Leeds.
Its commercial property clients include AO, Iceland, Wren Kitchens, Northern Gas Networks, and Yorkshire Building Society.
