The Labour MP for Bradford South visited Dent Steel Services to learn more about the company’s work supporting the UK’s naval defence.
Dent Steel Services, located on the historic Low Moor Ironworks site, has supplied structural steel to British Royal Navy frigate and submarine programmes for more than 30 years.
Speaking after her visit, Judith Cummins MP said: “It is inspiring to see a Bradford South business thriving as part of the new era of UK defence.
“Dent Steel Services is a fantastic example of how a local business, supporting the community with highly skilled jobs within its workforce and supply chain, can play a vital role in the UK’s defence with truly national and international significance.”
The company is now approaching its 50th anniversary, which is set to take place in 2026.
Chris Stokes, managing director, said: “Dent Steel Services is proud to support highly skilled jobs in the local community that we have called home since 1976.
“As we continue to grow and expand our strategic offerings, including our multi-million-pound strategic investment plan, we appreciate Judith’s support for our plans to bring more skilled employment to Bradford South.”
