A Yorkshire-based housing developer has swapped building for bed deliveries and meal service as part of community volunteering.
Staff from Barratt and David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West spent time supporting charities across the region.
Employees delivered beds for a child poverty charity, sorted surplus food, served meals, wrapped Christmas presents, and helped in a charity shop.
Gavin Birch, managing director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, said: “We’re incredibly proud of our team for giving up their time for these amazing charities.
“Each charity provides unique and essential support for the West Yorkshire community, and we’re thrilled to offer them some helping hands.”
One of the organisations supported was Zarach, the division’s charity of the year, which works to end child bed poverty.
The team spent the day delivering beds to those in need. Other employees volunteered with Surplus to Purpose, a Bradford-based social enterprise that transforms surplus food into resources for communities.
Staff sorted and organised fruit and vegetables to support the charity’s operations.
Land and finance teams also supported Candlelighters in Leeds by wrapping Christmas presents for the children.
