Markets across Bradford are celebrating mums with a day of pampering, crafts, and handmade gifts.
A series of events and creative activities will be held across Bradford, Shipley, and Keighley in the lead-up to Mothering Sunday on March 15, including offers, workshops, and live music.
At Darley Street Market in Bradford, The Beauty Bar will host a special pamper day in the Darley Street Kitchen, offering mothers and maternal figures free hand or head massage, exfoliation, makeup, hairdo, or mini facial.
Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council’s executive member for regeneration, planning and transport, said: “Our markets are excellent places to pick up that perfect gift for mum, as well as all the ingredients to make a special Mother’s Day meal.
“Come along to our markets and take part in the activities and support our wonderful traders.”
Florist Roots will be on the Lifestyle Level with a selection of floral bouquets to suit all budgets.
Visitors can also join a collage card-making workshop, led by local artists Jess Swift and Lauren Kelly, to create a personalised Mother’s Day card.
The market courtyard will host a dedicated Mother’s Day Craft Market featuring handmade gift items.
Live music will begin at 12pm in the Darley Street Kitchen with a performance from MoJoJack Music, a Bradford-based project supporting adults with learning disabilities and neurodivergent individuals.
Later in the evening, at 5pm, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Darren Ellis will take the stage.
In Shipley, the town council is hosting a Shipley Spring Market on the same day, making use of the newly completed town centre market area from 9am to 4pm.
The market will feature more than 20 stalls offering crafted gifts, local art, lino prints, fudge, crochet pieces, cards, pottery, food, and drink.
In Keighley, Herd and Hive will return with a pop-up stall selling local honey, natural soaps, and other gifts.
Visitors can also take part in a Petals and Perfume workshop, where they can make a mini bouquet of crepe flowers and scent them with essential oils.
