Children in West Yorkshire are being urged to stay away from construction areas during the summer break.
The warning comes from Barratt and David Wilson Homes, which is encouraging families in the region to avoid building sites and instead use safer spaces for play.
The developer is recommending parks, playgrounds, leisure centres, and scenic walking or cycling routes as safer options.
Gavin Birch, managing director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes, said: “We fully support children playing and staying active where they live, but our message for the summer holidays is simply to be safe and avoid going near live building sites.
“Curiosity and adventure are important parts of a child’s development, but construction sites can be dangerous.
“We encourage children and families to use the public open spaces on our developments, as well as other safe local facilities, instead.”
According to Action for Children, just 10 to 15 minutes of outdoor play can help support a child’s physical and mental development.

Children are advised to do at least 60 minutes of exercise each day, such as running, climbing, skipping, jumping, or kicking a ball at the park.
