Young Bradford entrepreneur crowned best stall winner at regional showcase

A YOUNG entrepreneur has won praise for her handmade business at a regional showcase.

Sixteen-year-old Jessica Prideaux took home the ‘best stall’ award at the Young Traders Market held at Darley Street Market in Bradford.

Representing her business, Jesy’s Scrunchies, Ms Prideaux impressed judges at the event, which was organised by the National Market Traders’ Federation (NMTF) and featured nine traders from across Yorkshire.

Councillor Ian Walker, executive member for neighbourhoods and communities at Bradford Council, said: “Congratulations Jessica on winning the best stall competition.

“And thank you to the other young people who took part, it sounds like they had some wonderful products on offer and made the job of judging a difficult one.”

Ms Prideaux will now represent Bradford District Markets at the regional final for Yorkshire and Humber, taking place on Saturday, August 1.

Joe Harrison, CEO of the NMTF, said: “We welcome Bradford District Markets involvement with the Young Market Traders campaign for 2026, so much so, that we are bringing the NMTF’s YTM regional final to Bradford in 2027.”
