Bradford based Expect Distribution open their biggest site yet

Family owned and run transport and warehousing company, Expect Distribution, have opened their biggest site to date. Their new warehouse totals 193,000 sq ft and brings their total number of major sites in Bradford to three.

Located on the Euroway Trading Estate, less than one mile from their head office on Staithgate Lane, the new site boasts a staggering 193,000sqft of warehousing space, will house 31,000 pallets and will be Expect Distribution’s third major site in the city. This brings the Bradford-based company’s total storage space to 400,000sqft, their employee number to 300 and means they now operate a fleet of 110 vehicles.

The site will house two of Expect Distribution’s significant new contracts. The first of these being a 10-year contract with neighbouring company BorgWarner, providing a complete 3PL (3rd party logistics) warehousing fulfilment.

The second of these contracts sees a two-year deal to warehouse 6,000 pallets and offer fulfilment to major UK retailers for Halifax and Leeds based, kitchen fascia manufacturer, Nobia UK.

In addition to this, on April 1 2019, Expect Distribution commenced a third new contract, a three-year deal with Leeds based work surface distributor, CD (UK) Ltd.

Expect will provide a completely bespoke transport solution and fully operate a fleet of nine vehicles carrying CD (UK) Ltd livery. This solution will enable CD (UK) Ltd to service their client base on a next day basis throughout the whole of the Mainland UK.

The new Bradford site will create a projected 46 new roles at varying levels and skill sets, including general manager; warehouse manager; admin clerk; team leaders; warehouse operatives; pickers; labourers; security and cleaning roles

Recruitment is likely to look to their local community as they generate all planned new roles.

Expect Distribution doesn’t sit still for long, if at all, so with the new site set to reach capacity within six months, they are already seeking to identify a location for their next site – and where else would they look than the city that has served them so well and they have come to call home, Bradford.
