Bradford firm offering free boiler repairs and services to vulnerable people

A BRADFORD plumbing and heating company is providing free boiler repairs and services for those struggling with rising costs.

Mr Reactive Ltd, a local plumbing and heating company, has launched a new ‘Community Giveback’ campaign to support homeowners across West Yorkshire who are delaying essential repairs due to financial pressures.

The company, which specialises in boiler servicing, repairs, and installations, has noticed a pattern of residents, especially the elderly and families, postponing necessary maintenance.

This trend has sometimes resulted in bigger issues, such as complete breakdowns, leaving residents without heating or hot water.

Mohammed Faizan, 38, who helps manage Mr Reactive Ltd, said: “The idea behind the Community Giveback campaign came from what we’ve been seeing more frequently across our day-to-day work – homeowners delaying essential servicing or repairs due to rising costs, which can often lead to bigger issues further down the line.”

Mr Faizan shared a recent instance where the company repaired the boiler of a 78-year-old woman free of charge after her 28-year-old boiler broke down.

She only had £89.11 available, while the repair cost was £210 including VAT.

The company also assisted her in securing a government-backed scheme for a new boiler, providing her with a five-year warranty and much-needed peace of mind.

Experiences like these have prompted Mr Reactive Ltd to think about how they can further support the local community.

The campaign aims to highlight that support is available and to step in where possible, especially for those who may be struggling but haven’t asked for help.

The company has already started to receive applications for the campaign.

These include a single parent who recently lost their job and is financially struggling, a family with multiple children struggling to keep up with bills, and an elderly homeowner worried about their boiler but hesitant to get it checked.
