A tranquil campsite nestled in Holmfirth has been named the UK’s most-loved campsite.

Holme Valley Caravan and Camping Park in Thongsbridge has been crowned Campsite of the Year 2026 by Out & About Live, following thousands of public votes.

The family-run park is located on the edge of the Peak District National Park and was praised by voters for its natural beauty, friendly atmosphere, and outstanding facilities.

Jack Hart from Out & About Live said: “The fact that this award was decided by a public vote lends extra kudos to Holme Valley – it really is a mark of excellence, showing clearly that campers and tourers have enjoyed brilliant holidays here.

“This award is very well deserved, as the team at Holme Valley have created a high-quality campsite in a stunning natural environment.”

The 16-acre site features meadows, a fishing lake, wildlife-rich woodland, and easy access to scenic walking routes, including the Pennine Way.

The park has long held the David Bellamy Gold Award for conservation and is recognised for its strong commitment to protecting wildlife and habitats.
