Laundry chemicals and equipment specialist Christeyns recently exchanged new contracts with Swiss Laundry, a commercial laundry with facilities in Great Yarmouth and Cambridge.
Christeyns secured the new 10-year contract, worth several million pounds over the length of the deal, helping to secure jobs and investments at its Bradford headquarters and further solidifying their position as a leader in the commercial laundry sector.
Last week, Swiss Laundry launched the new purpose-built, 38,000sq/ft laundry plant in Papworth, Cambridge, following a £6m investment by the family-run firm to create one Europe’s most technically advanced and environmentally friendly commercial laundries.
Christeyns won the original contract based on its innovative, groundbreaking Cool Chemistry, a patented innovation that combines equipment and chemistry to deliver improved whiteness and increased disinfection whilst washing at lower temperatures. Cool Chemistry is being used at both facilities and is gentle on the textiles, thus prolonging the life of the linens whilst still providing excellent stain removal.
In addition to the chemistry, Christeyns have provided in excess of £500k worth of equipment. This includes the latest auto-dosing equipment, Christeyns Flux Multi and Flux Star and Laundry X-Pert, an advanced laundry management information software (MIS).
High tech water and energy handling equipment installed by Christeyns, allow Swiss Laundry to run a Zero Steam laundry where both water and energy are recycled. This will dramatically reduce water usage per kilogram washed, and, increase the amount of water that can be re-used.
