Couple mark two decades at bike shop

A COUPLE are celebrating two decades at the helm of a bike business.

Paul and Sandra Corcoran, of Cullingworth, took over Pennine Cycles, in Thornton Road, Bradford, when its founder and former owner, Johnny Mapplebeck, retired and emigrated to Canada.

At that time Paul managed the bike shop. He said: “It’s hard to believe that 2020 is our 20th anniversary – lots has happened during this time but also it still seems like yesterday when we were handed the keys. The cycling industry has changed dramatically over the years, especially with online shopping, but we have also seen lots of customers return to us as they want a more personal service and to benefit from our expertise.”

The couple held a celebration day to mark the milestone and pay tribute to customers.

Sandra said: “We are thankful for all our customers from around the world, who continue to support us. Although I never expected to own a bike shop, it’s one of the best things we’ve ever done.”
