Opening of new Aldi is delayed

PLANS to open a new Aldi store in New Bolton Woods has been delayed due to the Coronavirus.

The store be be the main food store for the under construction New Bolton Woods “urban village” – a development of over 1,100 houses as well as shops, schools and sports facilities.

The development, between Shipley and Bradford, is a major project being led by Bradford Council.

The shop was due to open on April 23, but yesterday a spokesman for Aldi said: “In light of the current unprecedented demand, we have made the decision to postpone the opening of the New Bolton Woods store, to enable us to focus our efforts on serving our existing stores during this challenging time.
