Painting and Decorating Association offer apprenticeships

SCHOOL-leavers in Bradford are being urged to consider a career in colour by national trade body the Painting and Decorating Association (PDA).

Apprenticeships within the industry offer young people the chance to earn while they learn, with opportunities available ahead of the new academic year in September.

This spring, apprentices from all over the UK took part in PDA competitions that tested painting skills and wallpapering abilities, providing an opportunity to test their talent – and socialise – with their peers from across the country.

Neil Ogilvie, PDA chief executive, said: “The time between sitting exams and getting results can be stressful for a lot of young people, but it’s also a chance to think about what they want for their future and the opportunities available to them.

“Painting and decorating is a craft that requires an often unrecognised level of knowledge and skill, and apprentices in the sector show great passion and commitment.

“I would encourage any young person who is considering their future to look into painting and decorating as a career, and find out more about apprenticeship opportunities in Bradford.”

Members of the PDA are trained, experienced and insured painters and decorators who commit to providing a quality job at a reasonable price.
