Pathway Group venture into West Yorkshire, launch their newest Pathway Skillzone Training Centre

Founded by a group of likeminded social entrepreneurs including the current CEO Safaraz Ali, the initial aim was to deliver English Language training to Refugees and Asylum Seekers working in partnership with a number of Further Education Colleges.

By 2005 Pathway had expanded rapidly across the West Midlands achieving Investors in People, ISO 9001, Matrix and DFES registration as a ‘College’.

Pathway is committed to:

  • Supporting people into sustainable and better work and ultimately building careers
  • Delivering a range of skills and training support programmes while connecting under-represented talent to employers
  • Supporting workplaces that promote diversity.

Today Pathway is working across multiple regions including: Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP, Black Country LEP, Coventry and Warwickshire LEP, D2N2 LEP, Leicester and Leicestershire LEP, Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire LEP. Worcestershire LEP, Solent LEP, Oxfordshire LEP, SEM LEP, Greater London, Greater Manchester LEP and of course now West Yorkshire Combined Authority

The BAME Apprenticeship Awards – Safaraz founded the awards in May 2016, with the first event held in November 2016. Safaraz realised that British Asians made up only 4.1% of apprentice starts and were severely under-represented. The awards aimed to recognise and celebrate the talent and diversity amongst apprentices from the British Asian community and showcase their achievements.
