Regional recognition for local pub in Brighouse

THREE local companies were crowned the very best in the tourism business at The White Rose Awards this week.

The Millers Bar in Brighouse took home the silver trophy for Pub of the Year while Broughton Hall Estate in Skipton won gold in the Business Events Venue of the Year category.

For the Large Hotel of the Year award, The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa in Skipton won silver.

Footballing legend Chris Kamara, who performed a live rendition of his Christmas album for guests, presented the awards which are organised by Welcome To Yorkshire.

The partnership with Visit England means all of the region’s winners now battle it out at the national finals.

Chair of Welcome to Yorkshire, Peter Box said: “I couldn’t have been prouder to have been a part of tonight’s White Rose Awards to see the very best in Yorkshire tourism honoured for their huge amount of hard work and dedication to making Yorkshire one of the best places to visit in the world. Every single winner should be incredibly proud.”
