BRADFORD (Park Avenue) sporting and executive director Tom McStravick has hailed outgoing owner Gareth Roberts.
And he insists that the Bradford-born businessman’s upcoming departure after 12 years in charge of the club is an “exciting moment” for the club.
McStravick is the point of contact for anyone looking to take control of the club, but Roberts will be part of the process too.
And with an abundance of love for his hometown club, the Texan-based Roberts will want to ensure the club ends up in the right hands.
McStravick told the T&A: “Working alongside Gareth has been a real privilege.
“His commitment to Bradford (Park Avenue) has never been in doubt, and I’ve seen first-hand the passion, dedication, and personal investment he has made to give the club the best possible opportunity to succeed.
“Every conversation we’ve had has centred on doing what’s right for the club, both now and for the future.
“It’s also important to stress that Gareth remains fully committed to the club throughout this process.
“While we’re actively exploring a new ownership model, he isn’t simply stepping away.
“His priority is ensuring we find the right custodians for Bradford (Park Avenue), and he’s willing to remain involved as part of that future, if needed, to help provide continuity and support the club’s continued development.”
Ultimately, while Roberts may soon be part of Avenue’s past, McStravick insists the future looks bright for the club, who are looking to get promoted from the Northern Premier League East Division this season.
On top of that, there are plenty of off-field initiatives going on too, as well as a thriving academy set up.
McStravick said: “From my perspective, this is an exciting moment rather than simply a change of ownership.
“Over recent months we’ve worked hard to strengthen the club on and off the pitch, bringing in talented people across the organisation and building a squad capable of competing for promotion.
“Those foundations give us every reason to be optimistic.
“My focus remains on continuing that progress and helping take Bradford (Park Avenue) to the next level.
“We believe the club has enormous potential, with a loyal supporter base, excellent facilities and a clear ambition to grow.
“Finding the right ownership model is about unlocking that potential and ensuring the club can continue to develop and thrive for many years to come.”

And delivering one final message to any potential new custodians of the club, McStravick said: “Everyone at the club remains fully committed to delivering a successful season, and I genuinely believe the future of Bradford (Park Avenue) is incredibly exciting.
“We’re looking forward to finding people who share our vision and ambition, and who can build on the work that’s already been done to write the next successful chapter in the club’s history.”
