A DEDICATED Enterprise Hub is helping to turn business ideas into reality.
Based at Shipley Library, it supports entrepreneurs, start-ups and small businesses seeking to grow or take their first steps in the Bradford district.
Andrea Hardaker, development officer for information and digital at Bradford Council’s Libraries service, said: “The Enterprise Hub exists to make business support accessible to everyone.
“Whether you’re taking your first steps into self-employment, looking to grow an existing business, considering turning a hobby into an income stream, or simply want a place to work and connect with others, we’re here to help.
“Through our workshops, expert advisors and partnerships with organisations across Bradford, we’re creating opportunities for people to develop their skills, confidence and ambitions.”
The hub, housed in a former exhibition space in the library, was created using £80,000 from the Government-funded Shipley Towns Fund.
Gill Thornton, chair of the Shipley Towns Fund, said: “Shipley has a thriving business community and it was important for the Shipley Towns Fund to support it.
“We’d invite everyone to come down and see what the resource has to offer and how the hub can develop the success of local businesses.”
The hub works in partnership with experienced business advisors, including Gareth Angel Thompson of Kingdom Wrestling, Andy ‘Ace’ Harrison of Acespeed History Motorsport, and Sarah McCann of The Positive Business Club and Savvy Sports Communication.
Councillor Andrew Judson, Bradford Council’s executive member for economy, regeneration and planning, said: “The space has equipment for co-working, as well as access to specialist business databases.
“We are keen to encourage people to seek advice through the hub, to use what’s on offer, and to network here.”
Alongside one-to-one support, the hub offers workshops on topics including social media skills, digital marketing, entrepreneurship, networking, and business development.
Visitors can also use hot-desking facilities, browse a large collection of business literature, or book the private pod space for meetings, mentoring sessions, or small events.

A number of local partners regularly use the facility, including Skills House, Skills Gateway, and Bradford College, which has been using the space to engage with and recruit prospective students and employees.
