Vision care and early intervention could prevent up to half of all cases of sight loss.
Ahead of Save Your Vision Month in March, Optical Express is urging the public to prioritise regular eye examinations and take proactive steps to protect their eye health.
Dr Stephen Hannan, clinical services director at Optical Express, said: “Too many people underestimate the importance of eye examinations.
“We regularly see patients who are surprised to discover that a condition has been developing silently for years.
“An eye examination is not simply about determining whether glasses are required – it is a vital health assessment.”
He explained that comprehensive eye tests can identify early signs of serious eye conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration, as well as broader health concerns, including diabetes, hypertension, and brain tumours.
