WHEN it comes to weddings, Bradford knows best.
From catering companies and boutiques to DJs and photgraphers, the district took home a number of trophies at this year’s Britain Asian Wedding Awards, held at the Mercure Piccadilly Hotel in Manchester.
The owner of Aziz Catering described feeling “over the moon” after winning the Wedding Caterer of the Year in Yorkshire title.
Khayyam Ahmed, who collected the award with his dad, said: “It’s an amazing achievement for my staff. They played an amazing role in all this and the customers come number one for voting for us.
“The atmosphere was really good.
“I can’t explain the feeling. I’m really over the moon. It’s a fantastic feeling.
“My Facebook has been absolutely crazy with the comments from everybody.
“I just want to thank all our customers, our staff, everybody involved and thank you to the T&A.
“Absolutely thrilled.”
While Mudassae Majid, the MD of Shandaar Sweets which is found on Great Horton Road and Leeds Road, was just one of the winners on the night, crowned the Sweets Supplier of the Year. Mr Majid, who was up against companies with over 40 years experience, told the Telegraph & Argus: “At the time when I got the phone call, I was shocked because I was like ‘Are you joking me?!’.
“Especially in this day and age, it’s all about having these things (awards) in place.”
With 15 awards handed to Bradford companies on the night, the winners are:
