A CROSS Hills-based logistics company is expanding.
Joda Freight is adding six new vehicles to its fleet.
And the firm has acquired an additional warehousing unit.
Last year, Joda Freight – whose headquarters are at Riparian Way – saw a 10 per cent growth in revenue, compared to 2023.
With the upwards trajectory set to continue, six new Volvo FH500 tractor units are being added to the fleet.
They are being introduced in phases, and should all be operational by the end of next month.
Each vehicle is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment – including a system that warns the driver of vulnerable road users in front of the lorry before driving off or when moving slowly – and comforts including fridges and microwaves.
The company’s warehousing capacity now totals 200,000sqft.
From its latest unit – close to the headquarters site – Joda Freight’s contract logistics, long and short-term storage and ‘pick and pack’ services have additional floorspace and racking capabilities to meet customer demand. The extra provision became operational at the start of last month.
Warehouse space in Bradford, acquired during the first quarter of last year, saw capacity reached within two months.
Joda Freight was established as a partnership between John Collett and Dave Wareing in 1986.
Now run by owner-managers Kieron Talbot-Sykes and Neil Tullett, the 125-employee company operates a fleet of over 60 vehicles and has four dedicated warehouse sites, providing customers with transport and distribution services across the UK and Europe.
The company is a founder member of the UK Pallet-Track Network.
Mr Talbot-Sykes says: “We are continuing to invest in our staff and services and building a wider recognition of how logistics companies operate, particularly in raising awareness of the specialised services Joda offers. We are well positioned for another excellent financial year.”
And Mr Tullett says: “Following our strong year in 2024, and with an increased focus on expanding our haulage and warehouse capabilities, I am pleased to report our continued growth.
“Since we took over the business in 2023, Joda’s continued focus on expanding its fleet and operational capabilities to expand our client roster has seen us go from strength to strength.
“These expansions contribute positively towards our aims for 2025 – to continue to grow, particularly our market share in the engineering sector.”
