A new family hub has opened in the heart of Bradford.
The Bevan Family Hub launched its new timetable from Friday, 16 January 2026, starting with a Well Baby Weighing Clinic and will provide ongoing support to children and families.
The hub is a collaborative effort between the Bradford Children and Families Trust, Bradford Council, and the Bevan Community Benefit Society.
Councillor Sue Duffy, Bradford Council’s portfolio holder for children and families, said: “We want Bradford to be a place where all our children and young people are given the best start in life.
“The new Bevan Family Hub is perfectly situated to support some of our district’s most vulnerable families, while providing a welcoming environment and friendly support in a location easily accessible to all.
“I am delighted that Family Hub Start for Life funding has been channelled into providing such meaningful support, increasing opportunities for families to socialise and connect with each other, while providing access to mental health, wellbeing, child development and early years support services.”
Funded through Bradford Council’s Family Hub Start for Life programme, the centre is located at Bevan House GP Practice in Bradford city centre and features improved accessibility.
The upgrades include ramp access, baby changing and washing facilities, a sensory room, room dividers, and refreshed décor and play equipment.
Emma Perry, CEO of Bevan, said: “We are thrilled to be part of the Family Hub network, offering children and families more opportunities in Bradford city centre.
“This partnership is a brilliant example of how public sector services and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector can work collaboratively to enhance the lives of our children and families.”
The Bevan Family Hub will offer a range of free, family-focused sessions, including ‘Family Hub Play Together’, ‘Read and Rhyme’, and an infant feeding drop-in.
Health services such as the midwife clinic and baby weighing will continue in the new family-friendly space.
Family navigators from Bradford Children and Families Trust will host drop-in sessions to offer support on parenting, child development, and wellbeing.
Susan Claydon, Assistant Director for Early Help and Transformation at the trust, added: “Our Family Hubs across the district help families with children and at every stage of family life, including during those critical early years.
“Expanding our Family Hubs into Bradford city centre broadens access to families so that they can get the right advice and the right help, at the right time, and in the right place.”
