Yorkshire Water holds education programme for more than 35,000 pupils

Yorkshire Water reached more than 35,000 pupils through its education programme in 2025.

The programme combines virtual sessions and in-person workshops and aims to raise awareness about the water cycle, water efficiency, and environmental protection.

Schools, community groups and families were engaged through a mix of school workshops, community sessions, and virtual learning.

Anne Reed, Yorkshire Water’s social value and education manager, said: “We’ve had an extremely busy year welcoming pupils to our education centres across the region as well as completing a huge number of in-person and virtual education sessions.

“Our free education programme covers everything from the water cycle and period products to water safety and using Lego to teach children about what they should and shouldn’t flush down the toilet.

“We are delighted that so many people have engaged with our programme during 2025, and the feedback from teachers has been great.”

Out of the 35,000, nearly 5,000 people visited Yorkshire Water’s education centres and visitor locations.
