Bradford firm invests £750,000 as it celebrates over 150 years of textile innovation

BRADFORD-based textile innovator James Robinson Fibres is investing over £750,000 into its head office and warehousing at Euroway Industrial Estate.

The company said the investment will enhance operational efficiency as it celebrates more than 150 years of pioneering spirit in the textile industry.

The fifth-generation family business JR Group, which includes Texfelt in its portfolio, has been making significant investments across the group.

Recently, a £10 million investment was made into Texfelt’s Cutler Heights facilities, which was aimed at positioning the company as a global leader in innovative textile fibres and fillings solutions.

JR Fibres will utilise its £750,000 investment to refurbish buildings, enhance office and welfare facilities, and consolidate all business departments under one roof.

The investment also extends to IT infrastructure and other operational efficiencies, improving flow and function to achieve world-class efficiency levels in manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics divisions.

James Robinson Fibres Ltd is an independent manufacturer, stockholder and supplier of Polyester staple fibres, supplying predominantly to the furniture, furnishings and bedding industries.

The company is also a stockholder and supplier of quality feathers and Feather Down for the soft furnishings and bedding industries.

It is part of the JR Group UK, which has been part of the manufacturing and trading in the textile industry for over 150 years.

It was officially established in 1873, but its roots date back to as early as the 1790s.

Owned by the Taylor family, JR Group UK operates across two sites. It is primarily involved in manufacturing and supplying textile fibres, feathers, and fillings, as well as foam replacement products for carpet underlay, upholstered furniture, bedding, insulation, automotive, and acoustics industries.

The business activities also include commercial and residential property developments and restorations.
